Pip/Point Value Calculator

Convert pip or point movement into account-currency value for any pair, metal, or index.

ForexMetalsIndices
Adjust contract specs

Leave the rate at 1 if your account currency matches EURUSD's quote currency (USD).

Pip value (USD)10.00
Pip value (account currency)$10.00
Value of a 25-pip move$250.00

Why it matters

Gold, indices, and forex all define a "pip" or "point" differently — mixing them up is one of the most common sizing mistakes we see members make when they move from forex-only into metals or indices. This tool exists specifically so that mistake doesn't cost real money.

Methodology

Pip/point value

Value = Pip/Point Size × Contract Size × Position Size (× Quote→Account Rate)
  1. 1Pick your instrument — the calculator seeds the standard pip/point size and contract size for it.
  2. 2Enter your position size in lots.
  3. 3If your account currency differs from the instrument's quote currency, enter the conversion rate (defaults to 1, since a USD account trading a USD-quoted pair needs no conversion).
  4. 4The result shows what one pip/point is worth at that size, plus the total value of any custom move you enter.
